Welcome to The Puppyworks Kennel

On August 16, 2008, The Puppyworks Kennel held its Second Annual Puppyworks Reunion. Twenty dogs attended. All visiting dogs are offspring of our kennel but one - Woody was the stud for one of our litters owned by Elaine and Jamie Lapierre from Rhode Island. The dogs were all released from their leashes and ran freely in our yard. It was exciting for everyone to see other dogs from their litters. No one could believe that so many dogs were in one place without fighting, but they all got along beautifully. This is going to become an annual event.

Last year three families gathered with their dogs - all from the same litter - and someone mentioned, "wouldn't it be fun to see all the dogs from your kennel at one time." That was the seed planted for this year's reunion. The oldest litter was born in 2001 and two of the dogs from that litter attended. The picture above was taken by friend and Moxie the Doxie owner, Steve Purcell, and shows most of the attendees with the exception of a few - mostly the men - that opted not to be photographed.

Quite a few people that were unable to come sent pictures and we made a large picture board with their dog pictures, where they live, who the dam and sire of the litter was, and the year they were born. Our new kennelette - small kennel - was completed on Friday so everyone was able to view the new "digs." The new litter of puppies that was born on July 4th attended. We placed them in one of the new dog runs and the pups loved being outside with all the people and dogs. It was a wonderful day and everyone is looking forward to next year.

The Puppyworks Kennel is located on 10 acres in Enfield, New Hampshire, facing the Green Mountains of Vermont. My husband, Keith, and I fell in love with long-haired Dachshunds when we lived in Germany. We have raised and sold only AKC registered miniature, longhaired, Dachshund puppies since 1983. We take great pride in offering quality, healthy, purebred dogs and pups with outstanding laid-back dispositions. Until recently we did not keep studs on the premises, but we have now acquired a gorgeous cream stud, Magnolia's Tennessee Walker from my friend and mentor, Tina Shepherd in Knoxville, TN.

At the present we don't have any puppies available. If you'd like to be notified when we have our next litter, please let me know and I will be glad to place you on my list. Thanks. Betsy

Meet our lovely dogs by clicking on their names or pictures below.

Darling DoraThe Puppyworks Darling Dora... is a 10-pound black and tan dapple with a wonderful gentle personality. She's one of the most laid back dogs we've ever owned. She will lay on her back and hand us a paw so we can cut her nails. She's absolutely one of the sweetest dogs we've ever owned. She was bred at our own kennel. [view pedigree]

Sylmar's April Flower - AKA "Cala" Sylmar's April Flower called "Cala" is a little cream-colored clown. This precious little 8 pound wonder bosses the other dogs around and tries to rule the roost. To be a little Southern gal, she sure loves the snow! She thoroughly enjoys the show ring holding her head and tail high with a perky little gait. Cala comes to us from Maria Wild in Clarksville, TN, from a long line of champions. [view pedigree]

Rose Farms Waltzing Matilda called "Maltilda." She is the newest addition to our kennel and will be hitting the show ring in January. Many thanks to Dee Hutchinson for allowing us the opportunity of owning one of Rose Farms famous dogs. Matilda is a beautiful red with a very heavy black overlaid coat who loves to snuggle up on the couch for naps.  [view pedigree]

Tiny Tails' Vanilla Delight - AKA "Dee"Tiny Tails' Vanilla Delight, called "Dee". Dee comes to us from Eva Gillaspy. I became friends with Eva when she lived in Canterbury, NH. She has sinced moved to Knoxville, TN, and we're thrilled that she has let Dee become one of The Puppyworks Kennel's girls. Dee's sire, Tux, is a gorgeous black and cream boy and you can see bits of the cream peaking through the tan points of her coat. She and Walker should produce beautiful babies when she is old enough to have puppies in a year or so. [view pedigree]

Magnolia's Tennessee WalkerMagnolia's Tennessee Walker. Walker is the onsite stud for The Puppyworks Kennel. He is an 11-pound cream Doxie. Walker is our only stud and is very possessive of his own private harem. He also enjoys the show ring and truly struts his stuff. I seriously doubt it will be long before he's a champion.
